Not Every Waterfront Stay Is the Same

Different experiences for different travelers and priorities

At first glance, many residences in this waterfront community may look similar. They share the same beautiful setting, the same general location, and access to the same community amenities.

But just like airline seats or hotel rooms, the experience can vary quite a bit. Some travelers are happiest choosing the lowest price. Others prefer the best view, easier access, and a more comfortable stay.

Captain Steve’s Waterside Collection was created for guests who want the elevated waterfront experience.

Why Captain Steve’s Residences Are Priced Higher

We focus on premium features for guests who value experience over price

Captain Steve focuses exclusively on premium residences within this waterfront community. He does not manage budget-style units, and that is intentional.

Lower-priced residences can be a great fit for travelers whose main priority is saving money while still enjoying the community and its amenities. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Captain Steve’s collection is designed for guests who are looking for something more specific: genuine open-water views, ground-floor convenience, spacious layouts, full-size in-unit laundry, privacy, and thoughtful details throughout.

Think of It Like Choosing Your Seat

Different options for different needs and budgets

Just like airlines offer economy, extra-legroom, and first-class seats — or hotels offer standard rooms versus suites with premium views — this waterfront community has choices for every traveler.

Captain Steve’s collection is for guests who want the upgraded waterfront experience rather than the lowest possible rate.

A Letter from Captain Steve

I know this community because I live here.

When I first discovered this waterfront community, I fell in love with the location, the amenities, and the lifestyle. I enjoyed the community so much that I eventually made it my home. But my first rental experience here taught me an important lesson: not every “waterfront” residence delivers the same kind of stay. The unit I rented sounded great online, but once I arrived, I quickly realized there were trade-offs I had not known to ask about. The view was not the open-water setting I expected. Laundry was inconvenient because I had to carry my clothes up and down steep stairs to visit a laundramat. The balcony was small and lacked privacy. Guests had to walk through the bedroom to use the bathroom. These were details I simply would not have known to ask about before booking.Since then, I have been inside more than a hundred residences in this community. I know the buildings, the views, the layouts, the advantages, and the compromises. I also know many other owners who rent nice units at lower prices. That is why I created Captain Steve’s Waterside Collection: to offer a carefully curated group of residences for guests who want a more comfortable, premium waterfront experience with fewer surprises. And if I do not have availability, I am always happy to point guests toward other owners I know and respect. My goal is simple: to help you have the best stay possible, whether that is with me or someone else.— Captain Steve

Helpful Questions Before Booking Any Unit

What to ask so you know exactly what you’re getting

To make sure the rental matches your expectations, here are a few friendly questions worth asking any unit in the community:

  • Does the unit offer a true open-water view or a canal/mangrove view?

  • Is it ground-floor with easy access?

  • Does it include a full-size washer and dryer inside the unit?

  • How private and spacious is the patio?

  • Does the layout give bathroom privacy?

A lower price can still be a good choice. The key is simply knowing exactly what you’re booking.
